Over the past few years, I’ve collected tons of lessons from various life experiences, many from personal encounters, books, insightful content, and some rooted in timeless wisdom.

I think the occasion of my 27th birthday is a suitable time to curate and share 27 lessons that have been most impactful to me. I hope you will find them useful.

So here we go!

1. Never regret being a good person to the wrong people. A good return will come to us from unexpected circumstances.

2. Money can buy happiness. But if we give the money to others.

3. Love is not about receiving, it’s about giving.

4. Spouses cover up defects and protect each other from all kinds of harm. Spouses also beautify each other, which brings joy and comfort.

5. Setting goals is very important, especially the goals that aim to serve others. Because whenever we are tempted to give up, we know that there is something bigger than ourselves that has kept us going.

6. Leadership is not a position, it is a choice of actions we take.

7. Find a role model who has a life you want and find out what they did and do it.

8. When things get tough, we just need to pause. It allows us to identify the actual stimulus that made it feel hard, and figure out the wiser solution.

9. Uncertainty is the most certain thing.

10. Respect and love are earned, not demanded.

11. Good wealth is good health.

12. 4 pillars of good health: good exercise, good nutrition, good mental health, and good sleep.

13. Everything in life does not have to come together at the time that we expect it to. Nothing is ever too late. Everyone has their own timeline.

14. Consistency is not given, it can be learned!

15. Never set a limit for sadaqah, because Allah has given us countless rizq in any form, and will give us more if we are expressing shukr.

16. We all have blind spots. Self-evaluation is necessary to grow. It guides us to prepare for our next performance better.

17. Other people’s opinions and perceptions are not our responsibility. But we can control our attitude towards people.

18. Networking is the booster for growing up.

19. We should seek the ridho of our parents in everything. Because their ridho is Allah’s Ridho that make everything feels easier.

20. It’s okay to fail, continuous improvement is better than delayed perfection.

21. Proactive > Reactive.

22. Manage yourself before you manage others.

23. The best travel experience is who we travel with.

24. The best early career investment is investing in ourselves. Have good skills, network, and knowledge.

25. Making change is hard. Staying the same is hard. Choose our hard.

26. Quality time > quantity time. A short yet mindful time is more meaningful than a long yet mindless.

27. We can do our best, yet Allah who will do the rest.

These life lessons have evolved into a set of mottos or principles that I use to guide my decision-making.

If you find it useful or just curious about some lessons, I will be happy to discuss more about them through comments or DM via ig abcdinis !

PS: Since life is a never-ending learning process, this list may continue to evolve.
